(but hopefully not One Bad Ant's App apex!)
I like hiking in upstate New York, I like the views from the high peaks, I like gear and technology, and I like good beer. No, this is not a personal ad (I think my wife would have issues with that), but it was my inspiration for developing the ADK46erNow app!
Whether you are a multiple 46er, or are tackling your first attempt to climb the 46 high peaks (or even just a few of them) then this app was developed for you. It is designed to be easy to use, to compliment your summit efforts, and not distract from your hike.
ADK46erNow provides you with tools to use during your hikes (compass, GPS location, surrounding peak identifications, and trip reporting) and planning tools you can use beforehand (46 summit log book, weather, and maps).
And all of this is yours for just the price of a good beer (which by the way, you can also find at the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery)!
Upon launching the app you will find the home screen that connects you to the app's four major features: Your log book, the suite of "Now" features after which the app is named, information and maps for the 46 high peaks, and weather forecasts. But, before we describe each of these, there are a few features available to you right on the home screen.

The Progress Bar: At the very bottom of the home screen is your summit progress bar displaying a graphical representation and a count of the summits you've reached for your current summit log (yes, you can have multiple logs, a log for each collection of 46 summits.

The Compass: The app logo located at the top of the home screen is more than just a pretty graphic... tapping it once will reveal the compass. Tapping it again, will dismiss it. Note: dismissing the compass before you quit the app will reduce the demand on your iPhone's battery.
Disclaimer: The ADK46erNow app is not a replacement for appropriate hiking gear, a good trail guide, compass, GPS device, good topographical trail maps, or common sense. The hiker uses this app at her own risk.
We have done our best to provide you with a useful, feature-rich and fun set of tools for your hikes. Trail conditions and boundaries often change, so let us know if you find that updates are needed, and what new or improved features you would like to see.
Please enjoy and hike responsibly.
Also, this app was built for iPhone4 and makes extensive use of its compass, GPS, and camera overlay features. We have not tested the app on earlier versions of the iPhone.

The Info screen: Email One Bad Ant at any time to let us know about bugs that need to be fixed (hopefully not many) and especially let us know what other features you would like to see. The info screen also links you to the One Bad Ant web site with all the app info and instructions.
